Four new networks from a range of data providers have been added to the National Environmental Monitoring Sites Register (NEMSR).

The new networks are:

  • Upper Air Network (BOM)
  • Air Quality Monitoring Network (ACT)
  • Air Quality Monitoring Network (NSW) and the
  • Air Quality Monitoring Network (VIC)

Use Chrome to view the new networks.

The Bureau's Upper Air Network measures upper air constituants of air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction and pressure up to a height of 30 km.

Ambient air quality monitoring is undertaken in the ACT to support both the National Environment Protection Measures and an Air Quality Index to better communicate the ambient air quailty to the ACT community. More information on the ACT Air Quality Monitoring Sites is available here.

Air quality monitoring sites are set up in Sydney and several regional areas of NSW. The networks continuously measure particles (PM10, PM2.5), sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and visibility. Search NSW air quality data here

EPA AirWatch shows air quality information measured by EPA Victoria's air monitoring stations around Victoria. Data at each location is updated hourly, check the individual site data for current parameters measured at each site. More information is available here.
